Nissan has unveiled the revised Nissan Juke SUV for the European market at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. In short, the new Juke features a restyled exterior, advanced NissanConnect system, Nissan Safety Shield, Around View Monitor 4-camera parking system, 40 percent more cargo space, opening sunroof and Xenon lights.
Interestingly, for this year as well, Nissan has managed to retain the not so pleasing styling on the Juke but it looks slightly better thanks to the new headlamps taken from the all new Nissan 370Z. The front and rear look more sporty thanks to the slightly tweaked design cues and the new opening glass roof. Some of external highlights include Xenon headlamps with LED daytime running lights, new trim beneath the front bumper and new door mirrors featuring LED side turn indicators.
The car also gets a revised rear bumper which looks more aggressive. Nissan has also added a new range of alloy wheels starting with 16 inch set for the entry level model and few different styles in 17 inch for the remaining range. An 18 inch wheel with colored inserts will also be available as an optional extra.
The exterior color palette now adds three new shades taking the total number to 10. These include Solid Red, Ink Blue metallic and Sunlight Yellow metallic. Furthermore a good range of personalization packs (covering the roof spoiler, wheels, side sills etc.) will also be available for added drama.
Other than the aforementioned changes, Nissan has also upgraded the engine lineup by adding a new petrol unit and extensively revising the other one. The all new 1.2 liter DIG-T petrol unit features advanced turbocharged direct injection and produces 115 PS of power and peak torque of 190 Nm. The engine consumes 5.5 liters of fuel per 100 km and emits 126 g/km of CO2.
The other, 1.6 liter DIG-T unit has been thoroughly improved to deliver more low end torque while emitting as low as possible. The 140 kW engine is Euro6 compliant and emits 139 g/km of CO2 on the 2 wheel drive version. As standard the 1.6 liter DIG-T comes with a 6 speed manual transmission but an optional Xtronic (CVT) unit is also available. The 1.5 liter dCI diesel engine remains unchanged.
