The McLaren P1™ with astounding performance, officially revealed ahead of its world debut at the 83rd auto exhibit of Geneva International Motor Show starting from March, 5th 2013. The McLaren P1 has twin-power engine with Instant Power Assist System and Drag Reduction System, which promises to deliver quick boost of power and straight-line speed, that makes its 23% quicker than the world famous McLaren F1 road car. While in the fully electric mode[E-mode], it delivers a driving range of more than 10 kilometers with zero-emission efficiency. The limited-edition model of McLaren P1 will be exclusively available with only 375 units which will available for standard road and track driving with a starting on-road price of £866,000.
Equipped with highly powerful and efficient engine which makes a perfect blend to deliver high throttle response, comfortable driving dynamics and maximum speed. In the engine configuration, the McLaren P1 is equipped with mid-mounted 3.8 Litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine and a technically sound electric motor, compositely delivers an super output of 903 horsepower[916 PS] and top torque of 900 Newton Meter for quick throttle response. On the other hand, it delivers a efficiency of 200 grams/km on combined cycle, while delivers zero-emission in fully electric mode.
With the technology based on Instant Power Assist System (IPAS), makes the McLaren P1™ to deliver astounding performance by sprinting 0 to 100 km/hour in less than 3 seconds. It can dash 0 to 200 km/hour in less than 7 seconds and can accelerate 0 to 300 km/hour in not more than 17 seconds. McLaren P1 has an electronically limited top speed of 350 km/hour[217.48 miles/hour].
Mclaren P1 engine system consist of a new engine variant of M838T unit, a twin-turbo V8 3.8 Litre petrol engine and is highly revised for best cooling and durability when tested under higher loads and generates an output of 727 horsepower[737 PS] and top torque of 720 Nm at 4000 rpm. The engine system has distinctively molded to embody the lightweight electric motor, manufactured by McLaren Electronics division of the Group, which generated an output of 176 horsepower [179 PS] and a peak torque of 260 Nm, instantly with cooperation of 900 Nm torque at 4000 rpm produces by V8 engine.
