Spain head into Monday night’s Euro 2020 qualifier with Sweden looking to register their fourth successive victory in Group F
Spain will host Sweden in a Euro 2020 Qualifying match between two teams that made the knockout stage of the last World Cup. The Scandinavian nation can play with a certain level of freedom having already guaranteed themselves a playoff spot.

After Luis Enrique’s surprising selections for Spain’s 4-1 over France, we expect Enrique to shuffle the pack for Monday’s game. Iago Aspas didn’t even last an hour against the Faroe Islands and may not feature here as a result, with Alvaro Morata possibly flanked by Isco and Marco Asensio.
Spain have not been at their best against each of Norway, Malta and the Faroe Islands, who they defeated by a 4-1 scoreline on Friday night. Enrique will also want to see that this group have learned from squandering an advantage in the Nations League as Spain somehow failed to progress having recorded back-to-back wins over England and Croatia respectively.
Spain predicted lineup: Kepa; Navas, Ramos, Hermoso, Alba; Roberto, Rodri, Cazorla; Asensio, Morata, Isco.
Sweden Team News
Sweden are missing Victor Lindelöf and Andreas Granqvist, who are their first-choice centre-backs. Pontus Jansson and Filip Helander are expected to take over against Spain on Monday.
Sweden have put together a run of four wins and a draw from five outings, which in part led to them topping their UEFA Nations League qualifying group against the odds.
Andersson will also be delighted with the recent contributions of Viktor Claesson and Robin Quaison, who have both scored in each of their last three appearances for their national team.
Sweden predicted lineup: Olsen, Lustig, Jansson, Helander, Augustinsson; Forsberg, Olsson, Ekdal, Claesson; Quaison, Berg.
- It will be the 13th encounter between the pair.
- Spain have won five times, and Sweden have won three.
- Sweden have not defeated Spain on their travels since a 3-1 success in an international friendly back in 1988
- This is the first meeting between the two teams since 2008 in which Zlatan Ibrahimovic, David Villa and Fernando Torres all got on the scoresheet
Spain have a 100 percent record after three matches in their EURO 2020 qualification campaign. Sweden are only two points back on Spain after three matches and a win here would throw the group wide open.
