Bentley registered a 19 % increase in global sales in 2013 which is a record for the brand and to maintain the same pace during 2014, Bentley is going to put up a power packed booth at the 2014 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS). Sharing the Bentley stage at the 2014 NAIAS is three models: the Continental GT V8 S, Flying Spur and the Mulsanne. Yes, Bentley will unveil the 2014 Continental GT V8 S for the first time in North America at the Detroit Auto Show. Alongside the GT V8 S, will be Flying Spur which happens to be the world’s fastest four door luxury saloon, and the pinnacle of the luxury range, the Mulsanne. The Continental GT V8 S will be available in both coupe and convertible versions and offers even more thrill, thanks to Bentley’s 4-litre twin-turbo V8 that produces 521 bhp (528 PS / 389 KW) at 6,000 rpm and a peak torque of 680 Nm (502 lb.ft) at as low as 1,700 rpm. The powerful engine is mated to a close ratio ZF 8-speed automatic transmission. There is also an ‘S’ mode, switching to which offers a sharper throttle and longer gears. Thanks to this amazing configuration, the Continental GT V8 S can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds (0 to 62 mph in 4.5 seconds) which is astonishing considering how bulky it is, and achieve a top speed of 192 mph. Despite the exhilarating performance figures the car delivers class leading fuel economy and CO2 emissions.
The Flying Spur is the fastest four door saloon on the planet and is powered by the 6.0 liter twin turbo W12 engine that puts out a brilliant 625 PS (616 bhp) and 800 Nm of peak torque. This way Bentley managed to bring a 14 percent improvement in the power to weight ratio and thus help the car achieve a 0 to 60 mph time of 4.3 seconds and a top speed of 200 mph. Last but not the least the top of the range Mulsanne will also be present there. Featuring a range of new luxury features the Mulsanne will get the required attention for sure.
