At the 84th New York International Auto Show this week, Aston Martin will unveil two new special edition models exclusively for the North American markets. Celebrating its 101st year in the automotive industry, the British marque shows off two special editions, one based on the iconic V8 Vantage while the other on the timeless DB9. Dubbed V8 Vantage GT and DB9 Carbon Edition, the two special Aston Martins not only talk performance but will also mesmerize the visitors with their alluring looks. The 2015 Vantage GT is powered by a front-mid mounted, 4.7 liter, all alloy, dry-sumped V8 engine which puts out 430 hp of max power at 7300 rpm, enough to propel the car from 0 to 60 mph in 4.6 seconds and achieve a top speed of 190 mph. Compared to the regular Vantage, the 2015 Vantage GT is more powerful and quicker, thanks to an aggressive spark strategy and a valved air intake system. The power developed by the engine is fed to the rear wheels via either a standard 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed SportshiftII automated manual unit. The exterior is painted in dark and is complemented by the diamond-turned graphite-painted alloy wheels, black headlamp bezels, textured tailpipe finishers, side window surrounds and clear taillamps with black surrounds. The interior has been updated with carbon sill plaques, satin chrome rotaries, carbon fibre gearshift surround or magnesium paddle shifters, leather steering wheel, Alcantara inserts on seats and doors, Aston Martin sport seats and more. With deliveries expected to start from the third quarter, interested customers can buy the Vantage GT for $99,900.
The DB9 Carbon Edition is available in Carbon Black or Carbon White, but customers can also go for a custom color. Powering the special edition is the AM11 6.0-litre V12 engine that develops 510 hp and peak torque of 457 lb ft. The special model features carbon fiber side strakes, carbon fiber window surrounds, rear lamp infills, carbon fiber rear diffuser, carbon fiber front splitter, 10-spoke diamond-turned alloy wheels and much more. The DB9 Carbon Edition is priced from $199,995.
