Today, Cadillac has finally announced the 2015 ATS Coupe, an interesting new addition to the renowned ATS lineup. With the ATS Coupe, the company continues its tradition of launching dynamic luxury coupes. The 2015 ATS is the company’s first ever compact luxury Coupe with plenty of goodies one will consider while buying a car of this segment. The car will be available with the choice of rear wheel drive or all wheel drive configuration, and a standard 2.0 L turbocharged four-cylinder or a mighty 3.6 L six cylinder, all mated to a lightweight and strong structure to offer agility, performance and efficiency. “The 2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe is a natural step in the brand’s progression, and another fun-to-drive and technologically advanced product for a new generation of drivers extending our target groups,” said Uwe Ellinghaus, chief marketing officer, Global Cadillac. “It is an exclusively distinctive American alternative, unique in its class, yet delivering a sporty and sophisticated driving experience rivaling the world’s best.” Other than the drivetrain and powertrain choices, other highlighting elements of the car include nearly perfect 50/50 weight balance and low center of gravity, five-link independent rear suspension, a multi-link double-pivot MacPherson-strut front suspension with direct-acting stabilizer bar , underbody aerodynamic shields, belt-driven electric variable-effort steering gear from ZF Steering Systems, Brembo front brakes, and 18 inch aluminum wheels. The car will also be available with an optional driver-adjustable FE3 sport suspension that includes Magnetic Ride Control, a mechanical limited-slip differential, high-capacity engine cooling system and 18-inch summer-performance tires.
The features list for the cabin is long enough and has OnStar 4G LTE connectivity, built-in Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth connectivity with voice recognition, Text-to-voice, USB, auxiliary and SD memory card support, SiriusXM Satellite Radio (three-month trial subscription), a 5.7-inch, three-window display, Full-color reconfigurable head-up display, Bose premium 12-speaker surround sound audio system, navigation system and much more. The engine lineup comprises of two engines: a standard 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder and a 3.6L V-6 unit. Starting with the standard one, the 2.0L turbo is capable of producing 272 horsepower (203 kW) and 295 lb-ft of torque (400 Nm). The available V6 is an award winning engine and generates 321 horsepower (239 kW) and 275 lb-ft of torque (373 Nm). Both the engines come mated with the Hydra-Matic 6L45 six-speed automatic transmission as standard. However, a six speed manual is also available with the 2.0L turbo engine. Cadillac has never compromised safety for looks and performance and the ATS is no exception. The Driver Awareness package includes features like Safety Alert Seat, Forward Collision Alert, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist, Intellibeam high-beam control, Front and rear park assist, Rear-vision camera with dynamic guidelines. For more advanced features is a Driver Assist package which is available on Performance and Premium trims. It includes Full-Speed Range Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Collision Preparation, Motorized safety belts, Electronic Park Brake, Front and Rear Automatic Braking, Enhanced Side Blind Zone Alert, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, and Full-color head-up display.
