The Malibu from Chevrolet is an important car for the US major and this is the reason why it keeps on improving the same. For 2014, Chevrolet has added fuel saving start-stop technology, 1.25 inch more knee room and enhanced chassis and suspension in the Malibu. The 2014 Malibu is roomier, more refined, more efficient, gets revised styling and an improved interior over the previous generation model. That is not all, there are important suspension enhancements and a new 2.5 liter engine. “The 2014 Chevrolet Malibu builds on the strengths established by the all-new 2013 Malibu to make it a stronger choice for customers,” said Mark Reuss, president, General Motors North America. “The midsize sedan segment is the most contested in the industry and we’re not sitting still with the 2014 Chevrolet Malibu.” Talking about the highlights in detail now, the front of the car has been subtly revised and it now looks influenced from the all new Chevrolet Impala, thanks to a more prominent grille which has larger openings accented with chrome. Next is the engine lineup which includes two powertrains for 2014: the 2.5L ECO with stop/start as standard and the 2.0L turbo. The 2014 Malibu is the only from its segment featuring fuel saving start stop technology as standard. The system is completely automatic and shuts off the engine in certain driving conditions to save fuel. 2014 Chevrolet Malibu Sedan (8) The 2.5 liter produces an SAE certified 196 horsepower (146 kW) and 186 lb.-ft. of torque (252 Nm). The engine is mated to a new six-speed automatic transmission and returns 25 mpg in city driving and 36 mpg on the highway. The premium 2.0 L turbo engine produces an SAE certified 259 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. (400 Nm) of torque – a 14 percent improvement in torque over the earlier version.
